Important: Coverage and claim decisions are made by your insurance company under the terms of your policy. Matterhorn Roofing & Exteriors does not guarantee claim approval, coverage, settlement amounts or reimbursement, and is not a public adjuster.
How roofing work relates to an insurance claim
Start by addressing safety concerns and arranging a storm damage roof inspection. If you decide to file a claim, the insurer may send its own adjuster to assess the damage. You may share contractor photos, documentation and estimates with the insurer, which then decides what, if anything, is covered under your policy.
Insurance roof repair vs. insurance roof replacement
Whether an insurer treats storm damage as a repair or a full replacement depends on its own assessment and your policy. Our role is to document the physical condition of the roof and estimate the work it needs.
Inspection, documentation and estimates
A contractor inspection identifies visible physical damage and helps define a roofing scope. Where provided, photos and notes may document damaged slopes, shingles, flashing, vents and related roof components. A written estimate describes the recommended repair or replacement work; it does not determine insurance coverage.
Inspection report format and exactly what's included should be confirmed before the inspection.
From claim decision to roofing work
Once you understand the insurer's decision, you choose how to proceed. Depending on the physical condition of the roof, that may be a targeted roof repair or a full roof replacement. The roofing contract and the insurance claim are related, but they are not the same decision.
We document damage accurately. We will never exaggerate damage, misrepresent its cause or help anyone submit inaccurate information to an insurer — and we'd encourage you to be wary of any contractor who offers to.
Materials and warranties
We install CertainTeed products.
For low-slope roofing, we install Flintlastic SA, an SBS modified bitumen system. Its warranty terms differ from residential shingle warranties and are confirmed per project.
For siding, we install American Legend vinyl siding.
CertainTeed's qualifying residential shingle lines carry a lifetime limited warranty from CertainTeed as the manufacturer. Coverage terms, exclusions and transferability are set by CertainTeed, not by us, and depend on the product line and how the roof is installed. We'll give you the specific warranty document for the products used on your roof before work starts.
10-year workmanship warranty
This covers the quality of the installation itself, separate from the manufacturer's product warranty.
We are insured.
